The Iver3 AUV is highly mobile and capable, providing value to our customers without sacrificing performance. Easily transported with a footprint flexible enough to be used on a wide range of vessels of opportunity, we are able to quickly respond when need arises.
This AUV is configured to collect high resolution side scan sonar, swath bathymetry, magnetometer data and water quality.
Side Scan Sonar
Orca’s Iver 3 AUV is equipped with and EdgeTech 2205 sonar that collects side scan data at 600KHz/1600KHz simultaneously.
This dual frequency sonar is effective at ranges from 15 meters for high resolution imaging of sub meter objects and out to 100 meters for wide area search or bottom mapping coverage.
Interferometric Bathymetry
The EdgeTech 2205 sonar simultaneously records bathymetry data on the 600 KHz frequency. Because this data is collected on the same transducer, it is co-registered to the side scan and is capable of producing compelling datasets by draping the side scan over 3d bathymetry models.
Magnetometry
The Iver 3 tows a Marine Magnetics Explorer total field magnetometer when there is a need to search for or map ferrous material. The sensor is towed on a 5 meter cable to isolate it from the AUV. Mag data can be simultaneously collected with side scan sonar and bathymetry, which is highly effective for identifying unburied ferrous material.
Water Quality
The Iver 3 can be fitted with a YSI EXO1 multi parameter sonde. The sonde can be fitted with any of the YSI line of parameter probes for measuring water quality.
The advanced navigation on the AUV combined with vehicle speed, dive angle and mission duration options allows for significant saturation and coverage of an area being sampled.
